Statement Psyche
FEDORA-PSYCHE was founded during the 4th European Conference on University Guidance in Berlin in 1991. This Working Group is a professional European network on psychological counselling in higher education. Its underlying concept is a holistic approach to the the student as an individual, since successful academic learning is not only a matter of acquiring knowledge but also of personal growth and development.
With its work PSYCHE aims to connect higher education counselling services at a European level to guarantee appropriate help for students from all over Europe, to strengthen the flow of information with other psychological institutions, to become more integrated into higher education policy and the education system in general and to promote the importance of guidance and counselling services in higher education within the European Commission.
The Working Group would like to identify and establish a common foundation for the framework of psychological counselling in higher education in European countries.
